My Story

My name is Leila and I am a mixed breed dog.

I am a small and very affectionate girl. I love people very much. Everyone says that I am the most sociable dog in the shelter, and I guess that's true.

Once upon a time I had a family. But one day something happened. There was shooting all around, people were screaming, and I was left alone, right in the war zone. I waited for a long time, thinking that they would come back, but this never happened.

Kind people found me and brought me to the shelter. Since then I have been here, and every time someone enters our yard, I run to meet them, thinking that this person has come specifically for me.

I can't stop believing that one day someone will come for me and take me home. I need to feel their warmth, see their smiles, and hear kind words. Only then can I be truly happy.
